Dr. Dixon undertakes workshops outside of Geelong. These are auspiced by other providers who hire Dr. Dixon to conduct the workshop. Participation at these workshops is at the discretion of the hosting organisation
WORKSHOPS FOR YOUR ORGANISATION?
Associate Professor Anthony Dixon is not an employee of any University.
Dr. Dixon derives income through his private medical practice and through his teaching, research and consultancy activities. Most of Dr. Dixon's research is undertaken in an honorary capacity.
A number of parties regularly contract with Dr. Dixon to undertake workshop activities. These activities are similar in nature to those undertaken in Geelong at the Empire Grill.
Frequently Dr. Dixon is asked to run shorter workshops of 1 to 4 days rather than the 5 day workshop as described on this web site.
Interested parties may choose to invite Dr. Dixon to undertake a workshop on their behalf. There is limited availability for further workshops in an already busy schedule.
The schedule of fees for providing such a service is as follows:
$6,900 (inclusive of GST) per full teaching day or part thereof.
All travel and miscellaneous expenses from leaving Geelong until return to Geelong including: Car, taxi, flights, accommodation, meals, etc,.
Flights: Dr. Dixon will not fly Virgin after this airline damaged expensive equipment early in 2005 and failed to take any responsibility for their culpability.
All domestic flights need to “flexible” according to airline criteria. This allows for adjustments in itinerary at short notice if and when required.
All flights involving cumulative flying time of over 3 hours to or from Melbourne are to be Business Class.

Where these practical sessions are chosen, all the pigs trotters, surgical equipment for delegates needs to be provided, etc,. Marking pens, scalpel, needle holders, suture material (best 3/0 and 4/0 for this purpose), plain and toothed forceps, scissors, gloves, 4 mm punch biopsy instruments, etc,.
When providing a mobile workshop service, the usual arrangement is that Dr. Dixon “will walk in and out” with the notebook computer, and everything is Powerpoint based. Presentation screen / projector is required. Also, given Dr. Dixon is talking for typically for 5 to 7 hours on a workshop day, a lapel or head attached microphone is needed other than talking to a very small group.
Workshops involving delegates cutting pigs trotters are limited to 25 participants. Otherwise it becomes impractical to cast an eye on what people are doing and interact effectively. These pigs trotter cutting sessions are best done by alternating between a pigs practical session and a non pigs practical topic.
