We are dedicated to the surgical management of head and neck skin cancers & melanoma. A referral is required. We ONLY accept new patients who are referred with proven or suspected skin cancer.

Associate Professor Anthony Dixon manages melanoma and complex skin cancer either in the Skincanceronly dedicated surgical facility or at Geelong Private Hospital.
Dr. Dixon completed his PhD in 2008. His thesis pertained to complications and outcomes of skin cancer surgery. Dr. Dixon is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Skin Cancer Medicine. Apart from his surgical practice, Dr. Dixon is involved in education and research throughout Australia and overseas. He has published original research in leading international journals such as British Journal of Surgery (2 studies), Dermatologic Surgery (3 studies), Journal American Academy of Dermatology, British Journal of Dermatology, British Medical Journal, Journal of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and Medical Journal of Australia.

Associate Professor Dixon manages skin cancer only.
In particular, Dr. Dixon excises skin cancers that are large and/or located on difficult sites on the body such as the nose, ear, eyelids, lips, hands and low leg regions.

Also in 2009 Associate Professor Dixon published the world's largest study of skin surgery outcomes in smokers versus non smokers. You can read this study as published in British Journal of Dermatology here.
Dr. Dixon was pleased to co-author the largest longitudinal prospective trial of delineating curettage prior to excision of BCC on the nose in the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2009.
